SCHOOL HISTORY OUTLINE

September, 1 , 1965.- grand opening - first year of teaching
in the newly opened Technikum Elektroniczne (five-year electronics school) .
This is the first school of this type in the province of Katowice, and
one of the first in Poland. It was founded in the place of the
liquidated Pedagogy School in the building in Ostrogórska St.

May, 20-21, 1970 - First final exams.
In 1965-2000 around 6250 students graduated.
Most of them, with their profile of education, chose to carry on in the same
studies, however there was no lack in other fields such
as : economics, military schools, arts.

year 1971 - four-year Liceum Zawodowe was founded and started
educating students in the field of assembling electronic parts.

year 1978 - the school was moved to another building in
Jagiellońska St.
The decision of building the school was made in 1976. The project author is
architect Albin Cieszyński.

year 1980 - "Electronic Band" musical group was awarded
"Srebrna Jodełka" prize
For many years there was a 120 people choir and the music group
"Electronic Band". They believed that the choir gave the school: life,
discipline, and loyalty. The choir and musical group conductor was Jan Grz±ba,
musical artist of Silesian State Opera in Bytom. For many years the choir
and band was at the top of the charts in local and provincial music contests.

year 1986 - school accepted to "Club of leading schools".
This was a great award. Being a part of this club gives us many
responsibilities such as: constant improvement in school organization, modernizing school
equipment, increasing quality of teaching methods, educating and caring about the environment.

to 1993 Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych was the Provincial Computer Science Co-ordinator base school.

year 1995 - Foundation of four-year Liceum Techniczne (technical secondary-school).
This is a new type of school which started operating in 1995/96 in Poland.
This school followed the example of the western European
schools and was in agreement with the Polish teaching system.
